Become Someone Who Doesn’t Need Permission
Self empowerment is built through self trust
There comes a point when you have to stop asking the world for permission to become yourself. Not everyone will understand your choices. Some people won’t understand your ambition. Some won’t understand your boundaries. Some preferred the version of you who was easier to influence.
That cannot be the deciding factor.
Self empowerment isn’t believing you’re better than everyone else. It isn’t becoming cold, unreachable or incapable of receiving advice.
It’s knowing that your life ultimately belongs to you.
Confidence is evidence
People often wait to become confident before they act. But confidence is usually built in the opposite direction.
You do the difficult thing. You survive being uncomfortable. You keep a promise to yourself. You say no. You try. You fail. You try again.
And eventually your brain has evidence:
I’ve handled things before. I can handle this too.
That is self trust.
Stop abandoning yourself to keep everyone comfortable
There will be moments when choosing yourself disappoints someone else. That doesn’t automatically mean you’re doing something wrong.
You can be loving without surrendering your boundaries. You can listen without automatically agreeing. You can change your mind. You can leave situations that no longer align with you. You can build a life other people wouldn’t choose.
They aren’t the ones who have to live it.
Take responsibility for your decisions, and then actually make them.
Relax reminder:
Never need approval so badly that you hand someone else the leash.
